Low carb stir fry with shirataki noodles
shirataki noodles are miracle low carb noodles made from some kind of yam. You can find them at Asian grocery stores or low carb stores. Some people complain about the fishy smell from these noodle, I don’t find it that bad after rinsed but I tend to use these noodle in recipes where some “fishiness” is a good thing. Since I often add a little fish sauce to my stirfrys it makes sense to use these noodles here.
Pork stir-fry with shirataki noodles
1/2 lb sliced pork (I used shoulder)
1 med onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, sliced
1 cup snow peas
1 can baby corn
1/2 cup shredded carrot
3-4 cups bok cho
Dash Chinese five spice
1 tbs soy sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Few drops of sesame oil
1/2 tsp chicken broth power
Stirfry pork with the garlic and 3/4 of the onions, season with five spice, salt and pepper. When pork is done add carrots, snow peas and baby cook. Cook for a couple minutes then add bok choy. Add soy sauce and sesame oil.
In a separate frying pan add a little oil and a quarter of the onion. When onion has softened add noodles. Add chicken broth powder and fry for a couple minutes. Finish with a few drops of sesame oil.
