Low carb burger recipe
This quick burger bun came to me after I made a low carb english muffin recipe. It is nice and fluffy and the added sesame seeds gives a nice flavor.
Low Carb hamburger bun
2.5 tbs low barb baking mix (carbquik)
1 tbs grated parmesan
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
Sprinkle of sesame seeds
In a bowl mix all ingredients except sesame seeds. Transfer to a microwave muffin dish (I got mine at Walmart, but a cereal bowl with a flat bottom could work). Sprinkle the sesame seeds on top of the batter. Microwave for 50-70 sec depending on your microwave power.
1/4 lb ground pork
Salt and pepper
Mix the salt and pepper into the pork. Preheat a cast iron pan to med high for at least 5 min. Roll pork into a ball (about the size of a tennis ball). Add to the pan and let the bottom of the ball sear for 25-30 sec. Flip and press the burger down to make a patty that is less than 1/2 inch thick. This process will make for a very crispy tasty crust on the burger. Let cook on that side for a minute or two. Flip and let cook through. Top with cheese if desired (I used provolone. Serve with some lettuce and mayo/ketchup and enjoy!
